Technical T-Shirts

Due to low response to the t-shirt sales, and threat of another year of loosing money, the IVW board has decided to not sell the Technical T-shirts. All those who already purchased a T-Shirt will be refunded their money the day of the event. If they happen to not attend the No Baloney Ride, a check will be mailed to their home address. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

  • $15.00 if received before August 26th
  • $40.00 family rate if received before August 26th
  • All entries sent after August 26th need to include a $5.00 late fee
  • Parents must ride with all children under 16 years of age / riders under 13 years of age are free

    Times

  • Registration lasts from 6:30 A.M. to 10 A.M.
  • All 69 & 100 mile riders must be registered and on the road by 8 A.M.
  • SAG service is provided on all routes until 4 P.M. At 4 P.M., SAG will perform one last sweep of the course to bring in anybody needing a ride
  • Chillicothe Christian Church closes at 5 P.M.

    • Routes (All new for 2010!)

    4 different mileage route options to choose from: 30, 50, 69, or 100 miles. Each route starts at Chillicothe Christian Church and loops to various towns in the surrounding countryside. Towns included on the current route are Henry, Camp Grove, and Putnam. Routes are planned, so cyclists hit one of our famous food stops every 25-30 miles, so you are never far from a delicious bite to eat. Each route will be well marked on the road, and color-coded.

    Fine Print

    Should the weather turn bad, no refunds will be offered on registration fees. Late fees will be collected for walk-up entries, and those postmarked after August 25th, 2010. A certain number of technical T-shirts will be available at event, but no guarantees are being made. Mechanics will be available, PLEASE NOTE: ALL RIDERS MUST WEAR A HELMET! The participant is responsible for paying active.com charges. No refunds will be given on T-Shirts as well as the registration fees.

    Lodging

    The Chillicothe Super 8 Motel has offered a discount to No Baloney ride participants if you mention our event when you make your reservations. The Super 8 is within ¾ mile of the Chillicothe Christian Church and an easy ride to get the legs limbered up. Their phone number is (309) 274-2568

    What is the No Baloney Ride? The No Baloney Ride is an annual one day 30, 50, 69, or 100 mile bicycle tour sponsored by the Illinois Valley Wheelm'n of Peoria, IL. It is a recreational and social tour through the varied terrain of central Illinois.

    No Baloney was never intended to be a race and the Illinois Valley Wheelm'n are hopeful all participants ride in a safe and intelligent manner - that's no baloney. The first ride took place more than 30 years ago and has gone by many different names: The Pedal-In, Biking with the Bison, Gear down the Geese, and Pedal 'Round Peoria Town. As you can see, the IVW are known for their interesting name ideas!! Regardless of the name, our event has always been a great ride, and we hope you enjoy it!

    To emphasize we have the best and most plentiful food of any ride in the central Illinois area, our club voted to change the name to No Baloney. Each stop on the route is themed a different way, and has great food to match. On past rides, we've had stops themed in French, Hawaiian, Italian, German, and American motifs. You never know what stops the IVW may pull out for a given year, so please come expecting the forest, and we'll give you the World!
