Description
The Char-Heel Classic is an inaugural charity bike event for the entire family taking place on May 11, 2013 in Charlotte, NC. Proceeds from The Char-Heel Classic proudly benefit 24 Hours of Booty, the official 24-Hour Cycling Event of LIVESTRONG - a 501c3 that brings together cyclists of all abilities who are passionate about fighting cancer.
Ride Details
The Char-Heel Classic offers a 41 mile and 22 mile ride through some of Charlotte's most scenic and well-known communities beginning and ending at TrySports in Southpark 721 Morrison St, 150 Charlotte, NC 28211. Registration cost is $30 per rider. Each registrant is automatically entered in a raffle to win a Pinarello Bike (*must be present to win).
A 5 mile Family Fun Ride will also be offered for all ages! Registration cost for the Family Ride is $10 per rider. Registration for this ride will also take place the morning of the event from 7:30 am to 9:30 am at TrySports/Southpark. Youth under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
The Char-Heel Classic is a fully supported ride with rest stops, route markings, SAG, and mechanical support.
Registration
Online registration is now open. Event t-shirts will be offered to the first 50 registrants only so you are encouraged to register early.
Start Time
The 41 and 22 mile rides start at 8:30 am and the 5 mile ride starts at 10:00 am. All rides start and end at TrySports/Southpark 721 Morrison St, 150 Charlotte, NC 28211, on May 11, 2013.
Packet Pickup
Each rider must present a photo ID in order to pick up his/her own packet.
Early Packet pickup is Friday May 10, 2013 at Good Bottle Co. 125 Remount Rd Charlotte, NC 28211 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Packet pickup the morning of the event will be held from 7:30 am to 8:15 am at TrySports/Southpark.
Rider Goodies
The first 50 registered riders will receive an event t-shirt, and all riders will receive some great stuff (yes, that you'd actually use!) from our loyal sponsors as part of your registration packet.
After the Ride
At the finish, enjoy food, beer, and more from local vendors as well as prizes and fun awards.
An after-party will be held at JJ's Red Hots 1514 East Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28203 from 6 pm - 11 pm. Food and drink specials, OMB tap takeover, live music by the Whisky Dollars, and the Pinarello bike raffle drawing.* Must be present to win.
Parking
Parking is available in the lower gravel lot at Morrison. Parking is limited so we encourage car-pooling and early arrival.
