SPAN the Rockies is presented by Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence (SPAN), a Boulder-based nonprofit organization that provides shelter and support services for adults and children who have experienced abuse and works to prevent violence through education and community organizing. Funds from SPAN the Rockies will support our new Emergency Shelter & Resource Center, a 27-bed facility for victims of domestic violence. Enjoy a great ride while supporting much needed services for women and children who are victims of abuse.
The Routes:
200K (125 miles): Enjoy an exhilarating climb (over 9000 feet total) from Boulder to Ward and along beautiful Peak to Peak Highway to Estes Park. Return to Boulder via South St. Vrain Canyon and Lyons.
130K (85 miles): Challenging in its own right! Climb from Boulder to Ward and along Peak to Peak Highway before returning via South St. Vrain Canyon and Lyons.
75K (45 miles): Great for those seeking a longer ride but without the tough climbs and fast descents. Loop along the foothills north of Boulder to Lyons. Rolling terrain.

200K - Group 1 : 6:00-7:00 am
130K - Group 2: 7:00-8:00 am
75K - Group 3: 8:00-9:00 am
End of ride celebration: 12:00p.m.-6:00p.m.

What Your Registration Includes:
o A fully supported ride with aid stations, refreshments, sag vehicle assistance, and mechanical support along each route

o Riders who complete the Double Metric Century/200K will also receive a special SPAN the Rockies 200K cycling cap.

A limited supply of SPAN the Rockies jerseys will be available on the day of the event for $75.

Registration Information:
o SPAN the Rockies is expected to sell out, so save money and avoid disappointment by registering early.
o Registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable.
o No online or mail in registrations will be accepted after August 12th
o Helmets are required for all rides
o Please ride safely, lawfully and considerably
o Riders are required to follow all traffic laws and regulations
o By registering for SPAN the Rockies, riders agree to abide by our Rider Safety Agreement
o All riders are required to sign a waiver when they register; and an adult is required to sign for riders under 18
o Tag-a-longs and trailers are not permitted on any of the routes
o Tandems are allowed on all routes. Each rider must register and sign the waiver
o Riders are also strongly encouraged to watch the Colorado Department of Transportation safety video posted on the SPAN website
Donation/Pledge Information:
SPAN the Rockies is a fundraising event for Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence (SPAN). For 30 years SPAN has provided healing, hope and opportunity to women and children impacted by domestic violence. SPAN's Emergency Shelter & Resource Center offers safe haven to over 400 survivors of domestic violence each year. SPAN also operates a 24-hour crisis hotline, offer counseling, outreach and transitional services, legal advocacy and education services for violence prevention and anti-bullying.
Proceeds from SPAN the Rockies will help fund SPAN's Capital Campaign, which is a multi-year effort to raise $3 million in support of SPAN's Emergency Shelter. SPAN the Rockies is not a Pledge Ride and we include an optional pledge sheet for riders interested in raising pledges individually or as a team.
