CHALLENGING! FUN! UNIQUE! AN ADVENTURE!

For those not familiar with the words, "Gran Fondo" means "big ride" in Italian. They're long-distance, mass participation cycling events--not races--that are popular in Italy. Participation is open to both recreational and competitive amateur cyclists of all skill levels and abilities. Gran Fondos are often named after famous cyclists or after companies with a long heritage in the world of cycling. Now the tradition comes to the rolling hills of the Midwest!

WHAT TO EXPECT

The event is organized by Midwest Sports Events producing races in the Midwest for over 25 years. The corners will be well marked and swept. All miles will be marked. Bike aid stations will allow you to toss water and Gatorade bottles and get new ones without stopping by hand offs from the volunteers. Stations will also be equipped with food, gels and simple medical supplies. Technical support will be offered before and during the race. The race will be chipped timed with photo finish.
