Brief Description

This 62 mile ride features 9 climbs, gaining more than 4,000 ft, the first ever based out of beautiful Black Mountain, NC. And this charity ride has a twist: the Rest stops are hosted by local farms serving local food samples! The route boasts stunning vistas, quiet country roads and paved greenways (about 10% of the total mileage is free from cars). And, one of the few rides where you can “ride to the start” from any of the hotels / B&Bs. Come for the ride; stay for the weekend!

Additional Information

The Black Mountain – Fairview – Old Fort area is rich in tradition, history, and local farmers that are provisioning our restaurants, stores, and families. This innovative ride combines our love of climbing (and descending!) on these beautiful roads, with eating the fabulous food these intrepid farmers are producing. On the event website you will find plenty of information on how to get the most out of this event: participating restaurants and lodging are offering substantial discounts to participants (just show your bib), great places to eat and drink, all kinds of fun activities for members of your party that choose not to ride, and how to volunteer. Great local food, great local beer, great local shopping, and great local riding! This event is for charity – proceeds go to the Black Mountain Greenways, which in concert with their colleagues in Old Fort, provide nearly 10% of the 62 mile route on car-free, beautiful paved paths through green, green foliage.
