Additional Information

The Urology Health Foundation is promoting prostate cancer awareness and the importance of early detection by sponsoring this cycling event. We hope to encourage all men 40 years of age and olderto have yearly examinations. If men have a family history of prostate cancer or are African American they should start their screenings at age 40. Prostate cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in men second to skin cancer. One in 6 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime. One in 4 African American men will be diagnosed. Finding prostate cancer early can be difficult because it usually does not have any symptoms. That is why it is important to be screened yearly. Prostate cancer screening is done with a digital rectal exam and a prostate specific antigen test (PSA). It only takes 10 minutes to perform these examinations and it could save a man’s life. All proceeds will go to Urology Health Foundation a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and your donation is tax deductable. For more information go to www.urologycentersalabama.com
