Additional Information
Ride Description
Pedal off those winter doldrums. Start the cycling season by meeting old friends and making new ones in the expected 1000+ riders who come each year to enjoy the Lions Club's Tour De Sewer. Touted as the best organized bike ride in the area, the Tour de Sewer offers your choice of interesting 15, 30 and 62 mile fun bike rides, not races. The rides will leave the John Anson Ford Park in Bell Gardens, starting at 8:00 a.m. The 62 mile route will proceed north to Hacienda Heights. On the 30 mile course there is one moderate hill to climb and descend, the remainder of the course is relatively flat. The 15 mile course is flat. WE WILL RIDE RAIN OR SHINE.
The Tour de Sewer is not a race and is open to all individuals, clubs and teams who wish to participate. There is no age limit, but riders should be physically fit, and should have previously been on a ride of this distance.
Support
The course will be marked at each turn. Volunteers will be on the course and at the park to provide first-aid. Downey Amateur Radio Club will again be providing radio communications over the entire course. Rest stops will be set up along each route with water and refreshments. Roving mechanical support will also be provided to assist when needed or to transport stranded cyclists back to the park.
