Description
The Mountain Lakes Challenge offers three scenic and very demanding routes in the Southern Oregon Cascades. Bring your climbing legs.
- Metric Challenge -- 58 miles and 5,100 feet of elevation gain
- Century Challenge -- 100 miles and 7,100 feet
- Double Metric Challenge -- 135 miles and 10,000 feet
This is not a sprawling event with a cast of thousands, so you don't have to deal with long lines for sign-in, bathrooms, or food and water; and we can provide the best possible support.
From a rider in 2011: "I ride organized centuries and charity rides 3-5 times a season & I can comfortably state that YOUR ride had the best combination of terrain, scenery, support, and VALUE of any that I've ridden.... To ride that route with as few cars & other cyclists as we did, it felt like a first class private event."
Please note that a) online registration closes midnight on Monday June 18, b) there is no mail-in registration, and c) there is a $10.00 surcharge for day-of registration. The Monday night deadline gives you a chance to see what the weather will be like before pre-registering. As of Saturday night, you can get a forecast at NOAA for Sunday through the following Saturday (the day of the ride). http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?CityName=Ashland&state=OR&site=MFR&textField1=42.1947&textField2=-122.708&e=0
If you need to cancel, just email us at mlc@siskiyouvelo.org, by midnight June 17. We will refund our charges, no questions asked, but cannot return the fee charged by active.com.
