THE USES OF WILD PLANTS
Start: Sunday, October 14, 2012
Culpeper , VA 22701
Come join in the fun and fascination of discovery of wild plants and their traditional uses.
Explore which plants can be eaten, used for tea, used for survival, taken for medicine, used for fiber, and more.
We?ll start by discussing terminology and ?how to?s? associated with plant identification, collection, and preparation for various uses.
Then, let?s take a nice, long walk in the field and identify plants, learn about them, and even try a few.
When we?re finished in the field we?ll sip a great fall drink ─ sumac tea ─ while getting hands on experience extracting and twisting plant fiber to make cordage.
Wear appropriate clothes and shoes for hiking; insect repellant is recommended.
