San Diego's Masters Cycling Club
The San Diego Cyclo-Vets was founded in San Diego in 1985. The club was formed when a group of local cycling enthusiasts rode as the Banana Gang. SDCV supports men & women of all age groups including some highly masters racers. Over the years, the club has produced numerous state & national champions, and riders of national & international fame.
Members' interests include road racing, track racing at the local velodrome, criteriums, ultra endurance or simply high intensity training & club activities.
The club provides its members training programs from seasoned cyclists with racing & coaching experience. SDCV also organizes some of the best races and attended in the West.
Benefits of Membership
Membership in SDCV satisfies USCF club affiliation requirements. For those who do not wish to race, membership is available which provides each individual the full benefit of all club activities & equipment discounts.
Membership Dues

Professional Training
Training is an important aspect of any good racing club. The club holds organized training rides on weekends and on summer evenings. The Saturday club ride begins at the Gordon Biersch shopping center at 8:30 a.m. Locations for Sunday rides vary throughout the month & are open to all riders. These group-training rides are designed to prepare members for all types of racing. In addition to organized training, members may seek out others with similar schedules to complement their training programs.
Competition
SDCV members are encouraged to join the USCF & represent the club in races. The club hosts several major USCF races each year. In addition, the club holds a series of club races, which allow all members to compete against each other for club honors presented at the end of the year. SDCV also provides, through reimbursement through points program of portions of entry fees, & travel expenses.
Discounts on Equipment
SDCV is able to provide its members with incredible discounts on clothing & bicycle equipment. These discounts can easily pay back the cost of membership several times over. The club has several major sponsors who provide their products at substantial discounts to members. The club has special arrangements with the sponsoring bicycle shop for products & services at discount rates.
