The course is set along Costa Rica's tropical Pacific coastline but weaves at times into the Talamancas, a coastal mountain range in the Southwest corner of the country. You’ll finish near the border of Panama in a serene fishing village that until recently was only accessible by boat. If you enjoy long distance running or multi-sport competitions, the Coastal Challenge will prove to be a tremendously unique and rewarding running achievement.It's the diversity you will find astounding!

Tents - Tents provided upon request and assigned
Available to teams or couples. Extra charge of $100 per person applies. Typically 3 people will be assigned to six person tent. Teams will be kept together. Couples will also be kept together as much as possible. We will set up and break down tents. If you want to camp alone or as a couple you may bring your own and set it up.
Adventure Run Distance
The adventure run category is approximately 2/3 of the full expedition length. Those selecting the Adventure Run will be covering approximately 140 kilometers of the entire route.
NEW TCC RELAY (For teams of two)
$ 1750.00 per person. Your teammate will do 3 stages and you will do 3 stages. You determine in the best way to divide them as part of your race strategy.
Guest Adventure Package:
Includes 5 adventure excursions, great daily day trips including white water rafting, ziplining and an island excursion to Cano Island. - $1850 or a Deposit of $1000 to reserve. Tent required.
Soft Adventure Tour
Includes 5 Adventure Excursions during the event. $2150. Deposit of 1000.00 to book. Staying in clean, comfortable lodges and eco resorts. No camping.
Registration fees are fully refundable within 30 days of registering. If unable to attend you can roll 50% of your fees to the following year if notifying us of your cancellation up to six months before the event. No rollover of fees can be made within six months of scheduled event.
We cannot make exceptions so we highly recommend travel insurance to protect your investment in case of unforeseen circumstances that may cause you to cancel.
Team Captain Registration
To create and join a team, team captains will first create the team by clicking on the "BLUE" Create Your Team" button above. Then return to this page and click the "Register Now" button. Choose the category of your choice, then select your team name from the drop down box on the registration form. Continue through registration.
Team Member Registration
To join a team, click the "Register Now" button. Choose the category of your choice, then select your team name from the drop down box on the registration form. Continue through registration.
Click the "Register Now" button. Choose the category of your choice, then bypass the selection of the team name on the registration form and continue through registration.
Terrain: jungle and rainforest trails, rough and winding dirt roads, farm roads and some asphalt; mountain trail and some single track across ridgelines, passes and highlands; beaches and rocky outcroppings or reefs, dry tropical forest and rainforest, open lands including river/water crossings and more...The race lasts six days. Each day competitors will run/walk anywhere from 24 kilometers (15 miles) to 45 kilometers (28miles) in the Expedition category. People in the Adventure Category will run half that distance for a total of (approximately 125 kilometers total.)After each race there will be time to refuel, reflect and connect with the land and people from coastal villages. Competitors will camp in towns and on or near beaches, listening to the surf while sleeping under the stars.
