The 2014 Lauren Beam Foundation 5K/10K Trail Run and Hike is our second race, and our first on the west coast. We are excited to build this tradition of celebrating Lauren (Smith) Beam’s life and raise money for young men and women battling cancer.
After Lauren passed away in September 2011, Lauren’s fanclub of supporters (Team Beam), spontaneously organized an informal run in Central Park as a way to keep her unbelievable spirit and determination alive. This run was born from that day, and represents something Lauren loved to do – run – as well as something that helps the human spirit defy the effects of cancer.
