Relay Around Columbus - Americas Metro Relay.
June 22 & 23, 2013
Relay Around Columbus is a 6 person running, or walking, relay event covering up to 105 miles (running), or 70 miles (walking, high school running), around Columbus and Central Ohio utilizing the public trails, adjoining city parks, Metro Parks, and only as needed, city streets. Relay Around Columbus, which promotes fitness, wellness and camaraderie, is a challenging, overnight, 13-21 hour physical endurance event for athletes of all abilities, where the one goal is simply to finish the event. Relay Around Columbus will consist of 200 (Run / Walk / Ultra / High School) teams. Teams of 6 (Run / Walk / High School) or 3 (Ultra Run) athletes will each do multiple legs in a consistent, specific order, to complete the total miles for their team. Each person should train to be prepared to average 17.8 miles (Run), or 35.6 miles (Ultra Run), or 11.6 miles (Walk), or 11.6 miles (High School), to contribute to their teams efforts. Each team must register a full team at the time of registration. The team Captain is responsible for registering the team here on line. Active.com has a 15 minute ';time out'; feature to protect the personal information of the Captain registering the team. Please be aware of this when registering a team and have all the information for entry ready to go to avaid this protection and potential inconvenience. Changes in order of participants, or substitutions of participants must be made by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org. If you do not have a complete team as you resgister your team, please put in a fictious person as a placeholder. Please note that the longer you wait to fill this spot with real person the chances of that real person getting the shirt size they want diminishes. Event schedule and times
Start: Saturday, June 22, 2013 between 3pm and 9pm depending on the pace of the team. Slower teams will start earlier and faster teams will start later in the day.
Finish: Sunday, June 23, 2013 between 9am and 12pm. Teams, reagardless of start time, have until 12pm on Sunday to finish. Any team that is not on pace to finish by 12pm on Sunday will be moved up on the course to keep on pace.
