What's Included

Instructor: Ethan Dicks This class will cover the basics of 3D printing on the IC3D RepRap using existing STL files. Topics include how to: Prepare the IC3D RepRap for printing (power-up, warm-up, etc), use Repetier-Host to import, orient, and clone parts, customize print parameters with Slic3r software, estimate print costs, initiate and monitor a print run, and safely clean up the 3D printer area. All students will receive a small printed part to take home. CIF members will be eligible to rent the printer for their own projects.

About This Organizer

The Columbus Idea Foundry is Ohio’s largest community workshop, maker space, and learning center.  We offer variety of conventional and high tech tools: wood shop, metal smithing and foundry, laser cutter & engraver, CNC ShopBot, electronics, jewelry, warm glass, photography, and more.

We are home to 20 in-house artists, artisans and small businesses, have a rich network of more than 150 members including 50+ entrepreneurs.
