What's Included

Instructor: Andrew Frueh In this class we will learn about hooking up sensors to Arduino. Sensors allow your project to be aware of the environment so it can respond accordingly – make a light-sensitive robot, automate your garden, build an interactive art work. We will be experimenting with accelerometers, distance sensors, temperature sensors, light sensors, and more.  We will cover: ◦ power requirements (5v vs 3v), ◦ a survey of inexpensive sensors, ◦ building support circuitry, ◦ how to make use of sensor data,  You will need: ◦ Your own Arduino board (you may pre-purchase online during registration if you register a minimum of 5 days before class), ◦ Your own computer with the Arduino IDE installed (OR you can use our Linux computers ready to go), ◦ A basic understanding of Arduino (connecting the board, uploading code, etc.), ◦ Basic electronic knowledge (voltage, resistance, current, etc.), ◦ Any sensors you would like to play with, but instructor will have some for you to use in class. This is an intermediate level class, Intro to Arduino is recommended (or equivalent experience). Email info@columbusideafoundry.com if you have any questions.
