What's Included

At Mizzou Diving Camp, campers of all ages have the opportunity to learn new dives, hone in on their fundamentals and technique, and build strength and skill on dryland through tumbling, dryboard, trampoline and other dryland activities. Suitable for campers ranging in age from 10 years old to 18 years old, Mizzou Diving Camp seeks an understanding of campers’ individual goals in order to make the camp experience not only fun, but also a way to support campers as they work towards achieving personal success. Any divers younger than 10 must be approved by Jamie Sweeney (head coach; sweeneyjb@missouri.edu) prior to registration to ensure that the athlete is prepared to have a successful camp experience. The timing of Mizzou Diving Camp allows age-group campers to round out their summer season while high school athletes can prep for their upcoming seasons. Campers will benefit from state of the art facilities and coaches with national and international experience. Jamie Sweeney, Head Diving Coach at the University of Missouri, leads Mizzou diving camp and works with campers on a daily basis. Jamie, the 2013 and 2014 SEC diving coach of the year and coach of a total of 30 All-American honors, and his staff look forward to working with both new and returning campers this summer! Here’s more about what Mizzou Diving Camp has to offer: • 2 1-meter diving boards; 2 3-meter diving boards, and 1, 5, 7.5, and 10 meter tower • Video playback and 2 large high definition TVs on deck used during all training sessions • A bubble system to increase campers’ confidence while learning new dives • Dryland facility including 4 dryboards (with 2 belts), 2 trampolines (with 2 belts) and a spring floor adjacent to the diving well • A HUGE hot tub for tons of fun and recovery after practice • Resident and day camp options

About This Organizer

Tiger Starts and Turns Camp
The most vital components of any race are starts and turns. With a focus on power, speed, and efficiency, the Tiger Starts and Turns Camp will help campers maximize their race potential. This popular camp is designed to enhance starts, turns, and breakouts for all four strokes and is open to all swimmers age 8-18. To enrich your experience and gain a competitive edge, add on the Tiger Technique Camp or Training Camp.

Tiger Technique Camp
Nothing beats good technique. Tiger Technique Camp empowers campers with the knowledge and skills of fundamental and advanced stroke technique for all four strokes. Campers will learn new skills as well as learn to perfect old skills under the direction of Mizzou coaching staff. With better efficiency gained through a focus on stroke technique, campers will take training and racing to the next level.

Tiger Training Camp
Train like a Tiger! Under the direction of the University of Missouri Head Swimming Coach, Greg Rhodenbaugh, our campers are treated like MU Tigers. Training focuses on intensive conditioning combined with stroke analysis and instruction. All sets are written by Coach Rhodenbaugh. This camp is limited to 40 campers to ensure a premium experience.

Mizzou Swim Camp offers a variety of different camps so that you can find the right experience for your swimmer. We have conveniently grouped our Tiger Starts and Turns Camp next to our Tiger Technique, and Tiger Training Camps so that you can take advantage of multiple camp experiences. Whether it's learning the details in our Tiger Starts and Turns camps, or the intense workouts in our Tiger Training camp, we have something for everyone ages 8-18.

It is highly recommended, but not required, that swimmers have some form of competitive experience (summer league, high school, YMCA, USA Swimming) prior to attending camp. Camps are not learn-to-swim programs.
