The Show-Me STATE GAMES (SMSG), a non-profit program of the Governors Council on Physical Fitness and Health, is the largest STATE GAMES in the Nation! With over 40 sports and 17-20 events for all ages and ability levels the SMSG has a competition for you! Events are held throughout the year. The biggest Olympic-style sports festival in the Nation is held the last 2 weekends of July and the first weekend of August. 26,000-28,000+ athletes come to Columbia, MO to compete on these three weekends for a chance to win the gold and become state champions in their favorite sports. New in 2008! Thirteen other member states of the National Congress of State Games; Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas and Wisconsin have all agreed to send their athletes to compete in the 3rd weekend of the Show-Me STATE GAMES.
