On Saturday, December 7th, 2013, we will be hosting our fourth annual C35K. This year, all of the proceeds of the 5K will be going to send a team to Port Au Prince, Haiti to serve with Mission Of Hope. While we are there we are going to help up fit what would be the first homes that families ever lived in, spend time with children in local villages, and work to help complete the team home on the Mission of Hope campus
Last year over 170 runners and walkers entered this event, the majority of which were attendees or members of the sponsoring Cleveland Community Church. The race starts and ends at the Church which is located at 8246 Cleveland Road in Clayton.George Berg led the way in the 5K finishing in a course-record 18:12. Anne Wood broke the women?s course record as she won the women?s competition in 21:33.
The mile fun run begins at 9:00 am; the featured 5K starts at 9:30 am.
Competitive vs Recreational
Registrants in the 5K and mile can register either as a competitive or recreational entry. Competitive entrants will be issued a chip, will receive an official time, and be eligible for awards. Recreational entrants will not receive an official time, but they will be able to see their finishing times on a digital clock at the finish line.
The entry fee for the competitive category is $30, while the fee for the recreational 5K entrant is $25. The fee for the mile is $10. T-shirts are guaranteed to all entered by November 18th. After that date, it will be ?as available.? The competitive 5K entrants will receive a tech shirt. Cotton shirts will be given to all recreational 5K and mile entrants.
In the 5K, awards will be given to the first three male finishers to the first three female finishers overall, and to the first three finishers in each of the following age groups (both sexes): 13-under, 14-17, 18-24, 25-34, 35-55, and 56-up. All mile finishers will receive a ribbon.
