What's Included

Partnering with Chicago Children's Choir, DePaul University Community Music Division offers outstanding music instruction to students of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds in a university setting. Since 1989, the Lincoln Park/DePaul Neighborhood Choir has served boys and girls from the Lincoln Park, Lakeview, lakefront and surrounding neighborhoods. Neighborhood Choir members audition as early as 3rd grade and many continue into high school. At the Neighborhood Choir level, boys and girls learn proper vocal technique, music reading and sight singing skills, as well as the discipline of singing with musicality, movement, and expression. Singers are offered numerous performance opportunities to exhibit the diverse repertoire reflecting the multicultural mission of Chicago Children’s Choir. The Lincoln Park/Depaul Neighborhood Choir has been invited to sing for the Lincoln Park Zoo’s Zoo Lights and many other community performances. They have toured Washington, Michigan, Phoenix, Arizona, and San Francisco, California.
