What's Included

Behavioral "vaccinations" for parents of preteens to promote empathy, optimism and joy The goals of positive parenting are to promote competence, self-regulation, engagement, determination and shared enjoyment. The absence of problems and prevention of disruptions are not the most desirable outcomes. It is far more enjoyable to create an atmosphere of joyful exploration, active engagement, and cooperation. Attendees will learn developmentally appropriate strategies for promoting these outcomes, and signs that may indicate when more intense intervention may be required.
