What's Included

Português Básico 2 Saturdays from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Starting on January 16th, 2016, running for 8 weeks. Classes held at BiC - Andersonville (5327 N. Kenmore Ave. Chicago, IL). --- Don't miss the early bird discount! Save $25 by registering by November 14th. Students will learn to express their actions and attitudes by conjugating verbs in the present tense, and begin to grapple with the various ways that Brazilians translate the verb “to be.” In doing so, students will engage in group activities and practice how to tell time, how to count and perform simple number operations, and how to identify where people and places are located. In addition to describing their surroundings, students will be able to express that they need things, like a hotel for the night or a good restaurant for lunch. Teachers will continue to focus on different prepositional contractions and introduce new concepts like indirect object pronouns.

About This Organizer

Since 2006 our goal is to bring Brazilian culture to the Windy City.
We are the only Portuguese language school in Chicago and we take that responsibility very seriously. Brazil in Chicago was founded in January, 2006 by Marcelo Jarmendia. After teaching languages in Brazil and the United States for over six years, he decided to open in Chicago a school that would not only teach his native language, but also share with Chicagoans his passion for his culture. Thanks to his relations, he was able to build a network of professionals working with all aspects of Brazilian culture, allowing our students to venture into capoeira, samba, music, and Brazilian cuisine.
