What's Included

Português Básico 1 Saturdays from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Starting on October 17th, 2015, running for 8 weeks. Classes held at BiC - Andersonville (5327 N. Kenmore Ave. Chicago, IL). There will be no class on 11/28 and 12/5. --- Don't miss the early bird discount! Save $25 by registering by September 15th. This course will introduce students to the rhythms and sounds of Brazilian Portuguese. Students will learn to greet each other, talk about themselves within a group, and describe everyday objects using simple adjectives. Teachers will present some of the central (and perhaps unfamiliar) grammatical concepts that underlie written Portuguese. As with later courses, this introductory course will encourage students to participate in class discussion by exploring material in both pair and group exercises so that students grow comfortable with the pronunciation and cadence of the Portuguese language early on in their career.

About This Organizer

Since 2006 our goal is to bring Brazilian culture to the Windy City.
We are the only Portuguese language school in Chicago and we take that responsibility very seriously. Brazil in Chicago was founded in January, 2006 by Marcelo Jarmendia. After teaching languages in Brazil and the United States for over six years, he decided to open in Chicago a school that would not only teach his native language, but also share with Chicagoans his passion for his culture. Thanks to his relations, he was able to build a network of professionals working with all aspects of Brazilian culture, allowing our students to venture into capoeira, samba, music, and Brazilian cuisine.
