This is a USAT sanctioned event thus USAT membership is required for all participants.

Sprint triathlon: .5km swim (600 meter open water swim or 400 meter pool swim), 21.91 km bike (13 miles), 5km run (3.1 miles).

15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85+. Your age as of Dec. 31, 2013 determines you age group. Swim Course Description:
The open water swim will be 600 meters and will be held in Sloan?s Lake.
In order to accommodate this unique pool/open water swim, the transition area will still be in Lion?s Park, in a grassy area between the Municipal Pool and Sloan's Lake. If you wish, you can put on foot wear after the swim to expedite your time to transition. Since the pool swim and lake swim are considered 2 different courses, the pool swim contestants and the lake swim contestants will be given to the top 3 finishers in each age group for those competing in pool swim and for those competing in lake swim. Pool Swim-400 meters (8 laps or 16 lengths) of 25 meter pool. No wet suits allowed. 3-4 swimmers per lane. Will swim counter clockwise laps. Will start in water at east end of pool and exit east end of pool.
Lake Swim-600 meters. This is a time trial start with one swimmer leaving every 5-10 seconds. Open water swim at Sloans Lake located in Lions Park. Swim will be a counter clock-wise rectangular course. Keep buoys to your left during entire swim. Small lake with water temps between 64 and 68 degrees in mid June.
No Open Water Practice Swims in 2013 planned at this time. If practice swims are allowed, will provide dates/times on race website @ www.cheyennesprinttriathlon.com.
p>Bike Course Description:
Bike race is out and back course. Exit transition and exit Lion's Park onto Kennedy. Turn right on Kennedy, left on Central, right on Bishop. Continue on Bishop all the way to Little Bear Inn and return on same course back to transition. Bike course consists of rolling hills and flats.
5K Course Description:Upon exiting T2, racers will finish race with flat course. Course is 1 lap around all within Lion's Park .p>Aquabike
The event consists of the swim and bike course only. Only the 600 meter swim course available in the Aquabike event. Bike course will be the same as in the triathlon course. After completing the bike course in the Aquabike, those contestants will exit the transition area, where you entered from the swim, and run a short distance to the finish line. There will be two age groups: 15-39 and 40 & above with 1st thru 3rd place awards given in female and male age groups. p>DuathlonDuathlon event consists of run, bike, run. The first run course is a 1 mile out and back, while the 2nd run leg is the same as the triathlon course. The bike course is same as triathlon.
