Freedom 5k & Children's Mile

The Freedom 5K is held in remembrance of those who lost their lives during the events of September 11, 2001 as well as those members of the United States military and public safety agencies that have made the supreme sacrifice. Additionally, we honor those who have served and currently serve in the military and in the public safety field.
The proceeds from this event will benefit Chesapeake Sheriff�s Office Charities, Inc. who helps the elderly and indigent victims of crime in the City of Chesapeake as well as other local and regional charitable organizations. In addition Charities, Inc. provides funding for charitable causes such as the annual Senior Support Services Seminar. Over the course of 30 years, Chesapeake Sheriff�s Office Charities Inc. has donated over $1 million to charitable causes. Fisher House is a �home away from home� for families of patients receiving medical care at major military and VA medical center.
All 5K participants packets include: race number, official race shirt, souvenir finisher medal, food, and beverages. The registration for the Children�s run is $10.00 and includes: race number and souvenir finisher medal.
