Wilderness Awareness, Oct 21

About This Activity

Description

This activity has been cancelled.

We live in a wonderful region filled with a variety of outdoor activities; unfortunately, accidents can happen and people get lost or injured. In these situations everything you do will affect your chances for survival or rescue. The focus of this class will be the basic essentials needed for short term wilderness survival, how to set priorities in your given conditions or environment, and basic principles for self rescue or assisting in your own 3rd party rescue.

All levels of experience are welcome and encouraged. A good understanding of your needs in a compromised situation allows you to set your own priorities. This class is aimed to increase your confidence in your abilities should you ever become lost, or have an injury in the wilderness. I believe with an increased confidence and awareness of our environment we allow ourselves to enjoy our surroundings freely.
