The 26th annual Subaru Elephant Rock Cycling Festival offers three road courses, a fat-tire course and a family course for cyclists of all abilities. The Subaru Elephant Rock has developed a reputation for being both scenic and challenging. Join us for the unofficial start to the Colorado cycling season. Below is a list of all the courses:
Century (100-Mile) Road Course
The century course travels the same roads as the 62 mile course with the addition of a 35-mile loop through the Black Forest. Known for its beauty and continuous rolling hills, this section offers a challenge for the strongest of cyclists.
Metric Century (62-Mile) Road Course
This course traverses the high plains between Denver and Colorado Springs. On a clear day, cyclists will enjoy views of the Front Range from Pikes Peak to Longs Peak.
Half Metric Century (32-Mile) Road Course
This abbreviated course starts with a steady 4-mile climb and tours through famous Front Range horse country. The terrain includes gentle rolling hills with the return on the scenic Lake Gulch Road.
8-mile Family Road Course
The family course is perfect for beginners and families with little cycling experience. The family course includes a couple of rolling hills, with an extended climb in the middle of the ride. It features interesting terrain and awesome vistas of the Rockies.
Fat Tire Course
The Subaru Elephant Rock Off-Road course tours through rolling hills, high plains and canyons around Castle Rock. This off the beaten path ride travels on a combination of dirt roads, paved roads and bike paths.
