6th Annual Carying Place 5K

About This Activity

After several years of hosting a walk at Bond Park, the Cary Place is adding a 5K Run and moving the event to WakeMed Soccer Park. The Park is located at 201 Soccer Park Drive in Cary. In addition to the 5K, there will also be a mile run/walk and a 100-yard Kid’s Dash for children ages 8 and younger.

Starting Times

The 5K begins at 8 am followed by the start of the mile at 8:05. The dash begins as soon as the last finisher completes the 5K – about 9 am

Entry Fees

The entry fees for the 5K and mile are $25, if registered by August 24th; $30 if registered August 25th- September 6th, and $35 on race day. The entry fee for the Kid’s Dash is $5, but any children can run it for free if they are also registered for the mile or 5K.


A tech T-shirt will be guaranteed to the first 600 entrants.


Awards for the competitive 5k will be given to the top three finishers overall in the Men’s and Women’s category, and the top three finishers in each of the following age divisions 14-under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70-over

Late Regstration/Packet Pickup

Race packets can be picked up and late entrants can register at Inside-Out Sports in Cary on Thursday, September 5, from 4-7 pm or on Friday at the same place and the same hours. Race packets can also be picked up and late entrants can also register on race day at the WakeMed Soccer Park beginning at 6:30 am. Inside-Out Sports is located at 2002 Grisdale Drive in Cary.

The race benefits...

The Carying Place, is a local 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to help homeless working families with children in Wake County get back on their feet by providing temporary housing and life skills coaching. Currently, The Carying Place assists 21 families per year as they complete our 16 week life skills program. To learn more, go to www.thecaryingplace.org.

Phanthom Runners

For those who are unable to participate, but who would like to support The Carying Place, we have created the Phantom Runner division. For a minimum contribution of $25, a commerative t-shirt is included.
