In 2011, we introduced the Race for the Fallen as a tribute to officers who risk their lives to serve our communities and to honor the sacrifices made by the families of these local heroes. This year?s race will feature a 5K Jersey Jog (run/walk) for intermediate runners, and it?s our hope that the 2013 race will be the best ever. 5K participants are encouraged to wear their favorite sports team jersey or colors - collegiate or professional. Teams and sports themes are always welcomed.
Race Information---- Event Start: The Race for the Fallen will begin at 8:00 AM. The starting point will be near the Iron Hill trail. (Follow the signs posted on race day) ? Check-in and late registration will begin at 6:30 AM the morning of the race. ? Parking will be available throughout the park and race vicinity. Additional parking info to come. ---- Timing System: (This is a timed event.) Runners will be timed using the MYLAPS BibTag disposal chip system. ? The race is managed by the Police Benevolent Foundation, Inc and the PBA of Georgia, Inc. ? You may register at any Big Peach Running Company location. ? You may also register on-site the day of the race at 6:30 AM; however, the registration fee will be increased the day of the race. ---- T-Shirts: Event t-Shirts are included with your registration. Participants can pick up shirts during check-in beginning at 6:30 AM on race day. Additional shirts will be available for purchase during the event. ---- Awards (5K and 1/2 Marathon): In both male and female categories: Top 3 Overall; Top 3 Master Overall; First three finishers by age groups (both genders): 12-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-54, 65-69. 70-98, and 99+. Awards also given to the first three law enforcement officers to finish ? both male and female.
