About This Activity

This course is designed to accommodate beginning and advanced students in the techniques of realistic painting. Students are encouraged to work from photographs or their own compositions. The direction is toward developing personal expression within a realistic painting context. Students are able to learn by positive reinforcement both from the instructor and fellow students. This is a safe class in which to learn; there are no mistakes in the learning process. Ask plenty of questions so I can clarify the process for you and make your painting class experience a positive and enjoyable one. Most importantly, relax and have a good time!

Hanya Fojaco has made a life out of art. She was originally an abstract artist working in oil and has made her living as a jeweler, musician and craft artist before studying Realistic Watercolor Painting with Gerry Bartlett. Hanya is glad to be able to carry on in Gerry's footsteps of student becoming teacher and sharing her love of watercolor with others. Her paintings have been exhibited in galleries in Santa Cruz and she has been honored with several First Friday exhibits of her work. Hanya has a degree in painting and drawing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
