Get a taste of the Marine Corps Lifestyle. The Marines from Marine Special Operations Command (MARSOC) pride themselves on physical superiority and mental toughness. This off-road course includes forest terrain, dirt paths, winding trails, fallen tree obstacles and mud! For 5 miles, this challenging race will test your strength, stamina and endurance. Not a course for speed. Delays may occur at obstacles. Runners will be released in waves.
The race starts at 8:00 am. Beginners and walkers are welcome. Register by March 28 to guarantee t-shirt size. PACKET PICKUP:Packets contain race instructions; runner’s number, safety pins and a commemorative shirt (register by Fri, Mar 28 to guarantee shirt size). Those who have registered by 12pm on Tue, Apr 22, can pick up their race packet at the Wallace Creek Fitness Center on Fri, Apr 25 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. All racers can pick up their packets at the race site on the day of the event from 6:00-7:30 a.m. Race registration fees are non-refundable. Due to security aboard Marine Corps base, you must have a valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and a vehicle registration when entering the base. Awards will be presented to the top three male and female OVERALL and OVERALL MASTERS finishers, and to the following age categories: 9 and under, 10-12, 13-16, 17-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over. Team awards will also be presented to the top team categories. Teams must have a minimum of 4 runners to score; husband and wife requires2 and mixed teams require at least 1 person of the opposite gender. The awards ceremony will be held after the last runner has finished. Awards will not be mailed. FINISH/TIMING/RESULTS/REFRESHMENTS : Unofficial times are available immediately at the finish line on the digital display clock. Finish times will be posted at the conclusion of the race. Complimentary refreshments will be available to all participants at the end of the race.
