The Marine Corps Half Marathon will be conducted on-base on a certified course winding through Camp Lejeune, NC. Starting and finishing at Russell marine & Family Center, this course is scenic and flat. Course location is subject to change due to ongoing road construction. The course time limit is 4 hours., the course will close at 11 a.m.
The race starts at 7:00 am. Register by Aug 23 to guarantee t-shirt size. PACKET PICKUP: Packets contain race instructions; runner’s number, safety pins and a commemorative shirt (register by Fri, Aug 23 to guarantee shirt size). Those who have registered by 12pm on Wed, Sep 18, can pick up their race packet at the Russell Marine and Family Service Center on Fri, Sep 20 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m All racers can pick up their packets at the race site on the day of the event from 5:30-6:30 a.m. Race registration fees are non-refundable. Due to security aboard Marine Corps base, you must have a valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and a vehicle registration when entering the base. Awards will be presented to the top three male and female OVERALL and OVERALL MASTERS finishers, and to the following age categories: 9 and under, 10-12, 13-16, 17-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over. Team awards will also be presented to the top team categories. The awards ceremony will be held after the last runner has finished. Awards will not be mailed. FINISH/TIMING/RESULTS/REFRESHMENTS : Unofficial times are available immediately at the finish line on the digital display clock. Finish times will be posted at the conclusion of the race. Complimentary refreshments will be available to all participants at the end of the race. Final results will be posted on this website. Pre-Race Pasta Dinner – Home 2 Suites along with Olive Garden will host a FREE pasta dinner on Fri, 20 Sep from 5:30-7:30 p.m. All runners will be admitted free. Dinner will include: pasta, choice of meat or meatless tomato sauce, salad, bread, and tea. Non-runners can purchase a dinner for just $5 for adults (12 years and older) and $3 for children (11 years and younger). If you have already registered, and wish to participate in the free pasta dinner, please email firstname.lastname@example.org by September 8, 2013 with your intent. If you wish to purchase additional meals for guests, please also include that info as well. You may pay for the additional meals on site. Packet Pick-up & Late Registration – To make it more convenient for participants, we will be offering packet pick-up at Homes 2 Suites on Sep 20 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. In addition, racers who have not already registered will be able to register during this time (check only). Marine Corps Marathon – the top male and female finisher will receive a guaranteed paid registration to the 2014 Marine Corps Marathon. In addition, three drawings will be held. Each drawing is good for one guaranteed paid entry into the 2014 Marine Corps Marathon. Only those who completed the race and indicated on their registration that wished to enter the drawing are eligible to entry and win the drawing. Entries are no-transferable and not redeemable for cash.
