The Haley's Comet Run will be a series of races held on Saturday, June 1st, during Camerama weekend. Registration will begin at 7:30am with races starting at 8:45 am at the Cameron High School. The Haley’s Comet Races will begin with the 1-Mile Youth Fun Run for children ages 12 and under, followed by the 5k run/walk and 10k run starting at approximately 9:00am.
June 1 - Dinner/ Health Expo/ Packet Pickup
5pm-7pm Community Spaghetti Dinner! Race registration and packet pickup will be open at Cameron High School. Tickets are available in advance, online for $6 per person (ages 3 and under are free!) In conjunction with the dinner, Running F.A.R. will be presenting a health & fitness exposition. This event will be open to all race participants as well as the general public.
June 2 - Registration & Races
7:30am Registration, Packet Pickup, 8:15am Registration closes, 8:45am 1 Mile Youth Fun Run, 9:00am 5K & 10K Start Time
5k & 10K races will be officially timed
1-Mile Youth Fun Run: T-shirts and medals to all participants. Trophies to top three male and female finishers. 5k & 10K: Haley's Comet race shirt, available in both male and female sizes for all participants. Trophies will be awarded to top three male and female finishers. Medals to top three finishers in each division. Divisions as follows 5-10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+.
We have developed the non-profit foundation Running F.A.R. (Running For A Reason) to encourage people of all ages to run for health and happiness, to promote higher education and to support service and charitable missions in the Cameron area. The Haley’s Comet Races will be managed by this foundation.
Purpose & Proceeds
The race proceeds will go towards a new, annual scholarship(s) for Cameron High School graduating senior(s). Proceeds from this dinner each year will be given to a local charity of choice, which may change year to year.
