About This Activity

Join us for a beautiful spring day riding the scenic backroads of picturesque Dorchester County, Maryland. In it';s fifth year The Six Pillars Century Blackwater Tour has enjoyed tremendous success and deserves it';s great reputation.

With a choice of four almost completely flat routes, ranging from 11 to 100 miles, this ride is perfect for riders of every age and ability. Begin the day with a complimentary al fresco breakfast in beautiful Great Marsh Park along the shores of the Choptank River. Our show-n';-go start allows you the option of getting a daybreak start or having a second cup of coffee while waiting for friends. Once out on our sparsely traveled, well-marked courses you';ll enjoy full ride support:

-Maps and turn-by-turn directions for each of the four routes.

-As many as six (depending on route selected) well-stocked rest stops staffed with energetic, enthusiastic volunteers.

-SAG vehicles continuously patrolling all routes. Just dial or wave, we';re there to make sure nothing interrupts your ride.

-Large fluorescent road markings at every intersection.

You will NOT get lost on this ride!

-Come prepared to scream. ICE CREAM at mile 64!

-All riders receive a custom Six Pillars Century 2013 T-Shirt. As shirts need to be ordered well before the event, the last registration day we can guarantee the t-shirt size of your choosing is Thursday, April 04. Please register early.

Back at Great Marsh you';ll cross the finish line to cheers as we congratulate you on your accomplishment. Put your bike on a rack and enjoy our famous, celebratory "Picnic in the Park". Live music, good food, new friends and fellow riders will punctuate a perfect spring day.

The cost of registration $65 per person through April 26, 2013; and $75 per person through May 2, 2013 when on-line registration closes.

Registration for the family ride is $40 per family, with a maximum of two adults and two children, and $10 for students.

In-Park registration (space permitting, cash and check only) will be held on Friday, May 3 from 3 to 7 p.m. and on Saturday, May 4 starting at 6 a.m. $85 per person.

*A small registration fee is applied to both online and In-Park registrations.

The event will support Character Counts Mid-Shore, Inc., an agency which is best known for providing the Winners Walk Tall Program to over 8000 students in the public schools in Talbot, Caroline and Dorchester counties free of charge.

As in the past, this is sure to be a sell-out. Register early to guarantee a spot.

The event will be held rain or shine.

No refunds - CCMS is a non-profit 501C3 and cancelled registrations are tax deductible.
