Eat to Peak: What you Need to Know to Create a Winning Nutrition Plan

About This Activity

In this hands-on 2-hour presentation, Chrissy Carroll, a Registered Dietitian, will prepare you with the ins and outs of triathlon nutrition. Youll review basic components of healthy diets for athletes and discover tried and true tips for pre-exercise, during, and post-exercise nutrition.

This workshop includes an activity to help participants learn about the carbohydrate content of foods, a tasting session of several commercial endurance nutrition products, and interactive Q&A.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:

Workshop attendees will learn (1) how to create a balanced meal plan that supports your level of multisport activity; (2) the basics of nutrient balance and timing for training and races, and how this impacts your performance; (3) the nutritional breakdown (and taste) of different commercial endurance nutrition products, comparisons to regular food choices, and how to select items right for your body; and (4) insight into your own eating habits with a personalized one day food recall analysis

WORKSHOP BONUS:

All workshop participants will also receive a one day food recall analysis which will be returned to them the week after the workshop. Participants will complete the recall portion during the workshop (the presenter will walk them through this), and the analysis will be emailed back to the participant within a week of the workshop. A food recall analysis can help you see the number of calories you are taking in, as well as a breakdown of macronutrient and micronutrient consumption.

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR:

Chrissy Carroll is a Registered Dietitian, ACSM Certified Personal Trainer, and holds a Masters in Public Health. A marathoner and triathlete herself, Chrissy is passionate about endurance sports.
