We are a come-and-go-as-you-wish ultra running group under the guidance of Ultra-Mama Nancy Shura-Dervin and RRCA Club "Trail Run Events". Together since 1995, we are primarily a women';s training group, but also welcome UltraLadies';Men. We are especially supportive of new ultra runners who are welcome from April to August each year to train together for the Bulldog 50K as their first ultra running experience. Many of our runners have gone on to complete 50-mile and 100-mile endurance events. The UltraLadies also provide a resource of experienced pacers/crew for our longer distance ultra running members.
The only prerequisite for running with the UltraLadies is that you have completed a marathon within the last six months and that you have a base of mileage to support ultra marathon training. Whether you are a newbie or a seasoned veteran wanting a fun group to train with, we welcome you to the UltraLadies'; runs and best of all, the runs are free!
Event schedule and times
The UltraLadies will train for the 2013 Bulldog 50K held on August 24. The first group training run will be a 16-miler on the Bulldog race course on April 20; the last group training run will be a 26-miler on August 3. The training runs will be bi-weekly, on Saturday mornings, rain or shine. The location of each training run will be announced each week but all runs will be in the Santa Monica Mountains, greater Los Angeles area.
