DIRECTIONS TO RIVER VIEW PARK

From the US 101 Frwy, take Highway 246 West towards Lompoc 1 mile and turn left on Sycamore Avenue. Park anywhere in the neighborhood or designated parking field. River View Park is at the end of Sycamore Avenue.

SINGLE FIXED GEAR DIVISION

We invite riders of all ages who enjoy riding a single fixed gear bike to join us. Can you complete 10, 25, 50 or 63 miles on a single speed fixed gear bicycle?If you can, we have a special medallion for you!

SOUVENIR ORDERS

Souvenirs may be ordered online or by mail until October 17th, 2013 for pickup at the event when pre-registration closes. If for some reason you are unable to attend, your souvenirs will be mailed to your entry form address. Souvenirs will be available for purchase at the SCOR booth in the Cycling Festival area on a first come, first served basis. If we run out of the 2013 Solvang Prelude Jerseys or T-shirts, we will take orders and mail them to you within 3 weeks after the ride.

DAY OF EVENT REGISTRATION

Registration for those not pre-registered will be at the River View Park on Friday evening, November 1, from 6 to 10 PM and Saturday morning, November 2, from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM (add $10.00 late fee).

TRANSFER POLICY

If your schedule changes at the last minute and you find you are unable to attend, we will issue you a voucher that may be used to enter the 2014 Solvang Prelude without financial consequence. You must notify us of your inability to attend by no later than 10/30/2013 to receive a voucher. Any souvenir items you ordered from this year will be mailed to you in the week following the ride.

THE RIDE

Through the cooperation of the Cities of Solvang, Buellton, and Lompoc and the County of Santa Barbara, the SCOR Cardiac Cyclists Club is proud to bring you the 24th Annual Solvang Prelude Ride. This is a 10 mile, 25 mile, 50 mile or Metric Century ride in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley to end the season and to serve as a warm-up ride to complement our 32nd Anniversary Solvang Century and Half-Century annual ride scheduled for March 8, 2014.

SAG STOP FARE

All SAG stops will be fully stocked with fresh bananas, oranges, cantaloupe, pineapple, trail mix, salted peanuts, raisins, freshly baked oatmeal and chocolate chip cookies from the Solvang Bakery, Fig Newtons, Bottled Water and SPIZ, the only nutritionally complete energy drink (www.SPIZ.net). Additional food items may be added as available.

THREE GREAT SCENIC ROUTES!

The 10 and 25 mile (easy) and 50 mile (moderate) routes are beautiful, rural and scenic. For those looking for a challenge there will be a hilly Metric Century (63 miles) again this year. The elevation gains are 900, 2000 or 3000 respectively for the 25, 50 and 63 mile rides.

PROBIKEFITS are available to anyone wishing to enter and will have their entry fee waived. Randy Ice PT CCS has 28 years of fitting experience and will make you more comfortable on your bike as well as relieve any pain syndromes you may be suffering from. The cost of a PROBIKEFIT is $195. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Our event has its successful roots in the quality of our volunteers who help out at Registration, at SAG stops and at the Finish Line and Cycling Festival. All volunteers will receive a free event T-shirt and a voucher for a lunch at one of our food trucks. Contact SuzyBikes@sbcglobal.net if you would like to volunteer and make some cyclists happy for the day!

CYCLING FESTIVAL AND LUNCH

Our Cycling Festival will be in the parking lot at the River View Park where we have plenty of room. There will be a live DJ and massage therapists to take car of your tired, sore muscles after the ride as well different unique specialty foods offering Georgia's BBQ, hamburgers, Mexican and Italian food. Firestone Brewery will also have cold draft beer available in our food area.

RIDER PHOTOS

Available within 72 hours after the ride. Obtain a photograph of your exciting time on our scenic routes as a memento of our event. Please affix your Bib number to your chest, NOT ON YOUR BACK.

SAFETY

Helmets are mandatory. You do not have to show helmets at registration. SCOR will have helmets available for purchase at the registration area. It is recommended each rider bring (2) water bottles, a tube, patch kit, tire levers, pump, a spare tire and warm clothing in layers that can be shed as the day warms up and carried with you. Bring rain gear if need be.

LAW ENFORCEMENT AND INTERSECTION CONTROL

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Dept. & CA Highway Patrol will be providing intersection control throughout the courses. Please follow their directions. At unmanned intersections & on the route, please obey all applicable vehicle code laws.

These roads are open to normal traffic, but are generally lightly traveled due to the rural nature of the area. NOTE: Riders who violate vehicle code laws, ride unsafely or are rude, discourteous or dangerous to other riders (or to law enforcement personnel) will NOT be allowed to enter any future SCOR events and face law enforcement ticketing.

The Bicycle Ride Directors' Association of America (BRDAA) has developed the ride difficulty rating scale described here.The 10 & 25 mile route is rated easy.The 50 mile route is rated moderate.The metric century route is rated difficult.

SCOR continues donating to Camp Bon Coeur, Camp del Corazon and Camp Taylor, three children?s congenital heart disease summer camps designed to give children between the ages of 8 and 17 a medically supervised camping experience that they would not normally have available to them due to the severity of their illness and multiple heart surgeries. Fees

$40 Single Rider, $70 Tandem Team, $20 Child (under age 14) - Registration will be available the day of the event for an additional $10.00.
