Derived from the work we do with schools, this week embeds STEM learning about force, motion, and math (at age-appropriate levels) into the creative process of building our own toys and games. Children make a variety of games and toys that encourage both individual creativity during the making and collaborative play in use. Like the children of colonial times, we find that children place special value on the toys they create using rules they make up. Toys and Games in Motion is an intriguing counterpoint to screen-based entertainment for children and a dynamic week of hands-on fun. Please note: Williamsburg Northside requires that all children attending have turned 4 years old as of 12/31/14.
