In this class, students will build on the basic machine knitting techniques to develop an understanding of the knitted garment as a composition of 3-dimensional shapes. We will focus on volume, asymmetry, drape and geometry. Think beyond the square swatch and explore the magic of the knitted structure to create shaped and dimensional wearables! Pre-requisite: Machine Knitting 101 is required or equivalent experience (cast on and cast off, and basic machine knitting knowledge) Our classes are designed to focus on a learned skill rather than a final product. At TAC, our mission is to provide skills and knowledge for a lifetime! All materials for sample making and learning the technique are included. Any additional materials will need to be supplied by the student based on their vision. Students have access to Open Studio time for free for the duration of the class, to put their new knowledge to practice.
