The annual Cinco de Mayo 5K Run is now in its 17th year and draws over 500 runners and more than double the amount of spectators. Over the last 17 years it has been the host of great performances, such as a sub-14 minute course record by world class athlete Khalid Khannouchi. Since 2009, the top three qualifying male and female receive an all-expense paid trip to compete in the Modesto Carrion Half-Marathon(Male) and 10K (Female) in Juncos, Puerto Rico. They also receive accommodation expenses to compete in La Carrera Internacional del Migrante 10K: La Mixteca in Puebla, Mexico.
