Bio: Emily Putterman-Handler, affectionately known in the industry as the guru of shoemaking, has been performing her magic for over twenty years. She has taught the joy of shoemaking to many students through her 21 years at the Fashion Institute of Technology, Hunter College , Pratt Institute and Parson's School of Design. Emily was also the footwear consultant for the recent show "Project Runway Accessories". Emily is a graduate of Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), New York where she studied footwear and accessory design. After graduating from FIT she attended the Footwear Design Studies Program at Cordwainers Technical College, London, England. Emily also studied jewelry design at Parsons School of Design, New York.
