If you fancy yourself somewhat of an athlete and you want to experience a little something extra without emptying your wallet in the process, then join us on August 24th for the 4th annual eagle hadventurish. Visit www.eaglehadventurish.com for more information.
In honor of the 100th anniversary of the Tour de France and the double climb up Alpe du Huez, this year’s 7 mile Hadventurish race will feature the king/queen of the mountain challenge with 3 individual awards per gender. Sorry, but we just don’t have enough cash to put on the special fireworks display that the Tour is also planning. You will race down a trail to a quarter mile stream run….just enough to get your shoes heavier than a bucket of cement . Then you’ll hit the challenge head on as you race to the top. And this year, again in honor of the Tour, we’ll award a king/queen, a prince/princess and a duke/duchess award to the first 3 in each gender to reach the top. But don’t stop there… you’ll still have Rismiller’s challenge, the spider web, and various other challenges to complete if you want to claim the top spot in this year’s hadventurish race. In addition to the special awards for the king/queen of the mountain challenge, we’ll also be giving out glass blown awards to the overall race winner and our now infamous bobblehead awards to age group winners. If you’re looking to do just another trail run, then this race is not for you. But if you fancy yourself somewhat of an athlete and you want to experience a little something extra without emptying your wallet in the process, then join us on August 24th for the 4th annual eagle hadventurish. Are you smart enough to not only outrun, but also outwit your friends as you map your way to victory? If you’ve run some trail races…or even a warrior run or two, feel that you’re somewhat of an athlete, enjoy the camaraderie and being out in the woods, but keep asking yourself if there is something more, then this race is for you. And if you are a gazelle, this race will test not only your speed & endurance, but also your racing skills & trail smarts to show that you're a ‘real’ athlete and not just the running geek that people think you are. The races take place at beautiful Camp Mack Boy Scout camp, a scenic location with ample trails, lots of parking, shelter if it rains to accommodate all spectators and athletes, and ample picnic areas for your friends or family to enjoy both during & after the races. Plenty of food and drinks for everyone. The challenges and the course layout make these races enjoyable for the weekend warrior who wants to compete with or against his/her friends. Below are some of the challenges set up for your ‘enjoyment’: 1. Water Forge…not just your ordinary trail race water crossing…7 mile race only. This is the ‘real deal’. 2. King/Queen of the Mountain …it’s straight uphill…can you say Alpe du Huez? 7 mile race only. First 3 males/females up top get special awards!! 3. Army training station…it’s actually the boy scout obstacle course, but we can call it whatever we want. 4. Web crossing…this is one spider’s web that you might not escape from…redesigned based on runner comments. 5. Soda stop…no chocolate milk here…this is what separates the ‘real’ athletes from the whiners. 7 ounce can of coke. 6. Will we see the return of the ‘find your race number’ challenge? 7. The bean bag toss…just try getting the bag in the small hole when you’re tired…similar to the biathlon in skiing.
