Breckenridge Skating School will offer a Youth Basic 1 class (ISI Equivalent: Alpha/Beta) for youth who have never skated or are learning to stand up and skate forwards across the ice rink. Forward stroking, forward crossovers, one foot glides and snowplow stops are introduced and mastered. Beginning backward skating skills are introduced. The classes will all be held on the indoor rink, which is approximately 48 degrees, so please dress in warm, comfortable clothing. Mittens or gloves and snowpants are highly recommended for never-ever skaters as they may spend some time on the ice while learning to skate. Please note that class on June 25 will be 6:45am-7:15pm.
