Simplifying Complex Trauma: The Collaborative Stage Model
Start: Thursday, May 16, 2013 @ 8:30 AM (+00:00)
Brattleboro , VT 05302
This two-day workshop will present a practical three-tiered, strength-based contextual model. In Stage One, participants will learn how to create the context for treatment through assessing strengths and vulnerabilities, creating safety, and the importance of acknowledgement. In Stage Two, the action mode, the focus will be on which techniques and interventions to use for particular symptomatic patterns of behaviors and feelings. In Stage Three, Ms. Barrett will offer the most effective ways to help clients consolidate their gains and prevent relapse. Ms. Barrett’s method will help participants organize treatment to better handle a wide range of therapeutic situations and will be applicable to the participant’s own theoretical model for change
