What's Included

Come and learn how to make a perfectly tillered long bow with MAERA. During this camp you will build your own primitive bow to keep and take home with you. You will also learn the art of primitive instinctual archery—with 3D targets! Through learning the archer’s way of the land you will practice stalking techniques, stealthy movement and you will begin to enter the world of the scout. Participants in this camp will likely never see nature the same way again! This camp is a basic bow making camp. Students will learn the process of taking a piece of wood (bow stave) with the bark on, stripping it down, measuring and making a beautifully tillered bow. Students will each have a bow to take home. The individual bows worked on have bark removed and are rough cut due to time restraints but the student will have the full tillering process to do at camp on their own bows.
