What's Included

Learn to set metal type by hand, and then develop a basic understanding of the printing process while producing an edition of notecards. Saturday, Nov 5 from 9:30-5pm $15 Materials Fee payable to the teacher on the first day of class Instructor Bio: Lisa Rappoport is a letterpress printer, book artist and poet, focusing on the design, production, and sometimes writing of limited edition artist’s books and poetry broadsides under the imprint Littoral Press. She also works as a book designer. Rappoport teaches letter¬press workshops at the San Francisco Center for the Book, Kala Art Institute, and her own Richmond studio. Her work is in national and international collections and has been included in such surveys as 500 Handmade Books, Vols. 1 & 2 (Lark Books, 2008 & 2013) and 1000 Artists’ Books (Quarry Books, 2012). She has two smallish books of poetry: Words Fail {Me}, an artist’s book published by the San Francisco Center for the Book (2014) and Aftermaths/Figments, a chapbook from Etherdome (2009). Her poetry appeared most recently in the anthology Pluto: New Horizons for a Lost Horizon (North Atlantic Books, 2015). Her website is littoralpress.com.
