What's Included

In this short course, we will refresh all of the basics of screen printing from start to finish. Initially using drawings, paintings, and collages, students will learn how to turn their images into simple repeating patterns entirely by hand without the use of computers. Then we will create screens and learn how to print them using different methods of registration onto paper and fabric. With an emphasis on design, students will leave with a basic understanding of the complex process of repeat screen printing and ready to take on larger projects. Some squeegee experience is helpful but not necessary. Sunday, April 9 from 10am-4pm $20 Materials Fee payable to the teacher on the first day of class Instructor bio: Emily Gui is an experimental printmaker and multi-media artist who has been an artist in residence since 2015 when she moved to the Bay from New York.
