What's Included

Learn how to design and print repeating patterns and simple tesselations on fabric or paper. This class will teach/refresh all of the basics of silkscreen printing with an emphasis on textile printing, registration, and multiple screens. Students will learn how to create patterns both by hand and digitally from their own drawings. Students will be encouraged to develop their own small scale projects and to bring in materials such as fabric, clothing, tea towels, or wrapping paper to print on. Some basic squeegee experience is helpful but not required. Thursdays, Feb 11, 18, 25 & Mar 3 from 6:30-9:30 $25 Materials Fee payable to the teacher on the first day of class Instructor bio: Breanne Rupp is a mixed media artist originally from Panama City, Panama. She received her BFA from Flagler College in Florida, and has been in San Francisco since 2009. Her studio practice focuses primarily on Ceramics and Printmaking. She explores the intersection of the two via stenciling and screen printing on clay and by using imagery of her ceramic work in prints. She has volunteered as an arts educator and studio assistant with various Bay Area non profits (Root Division, Galeria de la Raza, Creativity Explored) and has held printmaking residencies at VCU (Richmond, VA,) Proyecto Ace (Buenos Aires, Argentina,) and Make/Hang (San Francisco, CA.)
