BENSON BEAR OBSTACLE CHALLENGE RACE SERIES #2 (JUNE 22, 2013)

About This Activity

Fees: $60 Adults & $35 Students. Late/race day fees: $70 Adults & $40 students. Additional Participant Insurance Fee required: $10 for all competitors. Season Pass: $280 Adults & $180 Juniors (see more information below).


Come tackle the Benson Bear';s 5 miles and nearly 40 military inspired obstacles over varied terrain on 150 acres! We have hills, hay bales that never end, ropes, water (some swimming), sandbags, logs, berlin walls, hurdles, tires, poles, monkey bars that go uphill, towers, ramps, giant';s ladders, the Abacus, balance logs, barb wire crawls, and more hills that will burn you when you see the finish in sight! These challenges rival anything you encounter on a Spartan or Tough Mudder course!


AGE REQUIREMENT: You MUST be 14 y.o. or older as of 1/1/13 to compete on the obstacle course. Student ID/birth certificate acceptable for those w/out a drivers license. Valid ID-State issued or drivers license required at check in for all participants. Waiver must be signed & on file prior to competing (Parents or Legal Guardians must sign on behalf of a minor).


DIVISIONS & AWARDS: All finishers receive a custom Shale Hill T-shirt & Benson Bear medal. In addition, the FIRST place Masters, Team and TOP three individual placing men & women will be awarded great prizes from Shale Hill and our sponsors - all local Vermont businesses!


COMPETITIVE HEAT OFFERED AT 8:00AM only.

NON-COMPETITIVE HEATS OFFERED AT: 8:30AM, 9:00AM, 9:30AM, 10:00AM, 10:30AM, 11:30AM, 12:00PM, 12:30PM, 1:00PM (management reserves the right to combine/add divisions based on the number of entries).


Team Sign Up

You can run with your team of 2 - 10 people! As you go through the registration process, select "Individual Men';s, Women';s or Master';s" and then you will be prompted to join or create a team. Team captains choose create team, team members choose Join a team and then choose team from search.


SPECTATORS AND PARKING: Spectators will enjoy attending our event as we have FREE parking and FREE admission to our event! Local Boy Scout Troop 109 will be directing our parking and a donation for their efforts is encouraged as this will help them raise funds to attend special pack events and summer camps.
