What's Included

How are some lizards able to walk on water? How do paper wasps nest work? Discover the answers to these questions as more as we attempt to duplicate some of nature’s engineering marvels. Campers will experiment with original designs by imitating structures or functions that exist in the natural world. Learn the science of biomimicry and discover how nature does what it does.

About This Organizer

Our popular day camps return with exciting experiential themes. Campers can learn firsthand what it’s like to be an animal keeper and care for our rescued wild animals, discover frontier life skills, experiment with earth science and create art and photography inspired by High Desert nature and culture.

Our childhood education experts have designed these week-long day camps to inspire ages 5 through 10 with unique, enriching hands-on experiences. Our campers have so much fun, they don’t realize how much they are learning!

Parents rave about the quality and value of our camps. Every day, children in each camp meet the Museum’s live animals, such as owls, porcupines and reptiles, and learn about them from our biologists and educational staff.

Camps are designed for separate age groups (5-6, 7-8 and 9-10). We also offer before and after-camp care from 7:45 to 5:15. Hope to see you at camp!
