Description: Have you ever dreamed of being on the big stage with bright lights? How about learning to work the lights or sound? What about creating your own costume? This is an opportunity to unleash your creativity in an environment that is designed to encourage confidence and personal success! Kids will learn team building and life skills as they go throughout their week to create their very own stage production. Auditions: Monday July 27, 2014: Please make plans to arrive by 2pm. Campers will be chosen according to ability and characters needed on this day. All campers will be assigned an area to participate in. If a child receives a memorization role it is very important that they begin right away. Some roles do not require as much rehearsal as others. Acting Classes: Theatre Camp is a great introduction to storytelling, writing, acting and improvisation. The younger campers will create characters and stories through creative play and improvisational exercises while older children are introduced to technique as they approach their first lines and creative poems or monologues. Music: Did you know you could sing? Learn from local Choir teachers how to make a beautiful confident sound, rhythm, and create harmony with a group. Set & Prop Design: Unleash your inner creative artist and work with a team to create a beautiful backdrop and props for the performance. Learn the importance of lighting. It is art on a large scale! Costume Design: Campers will be taught basic sewing techniques. They will get an opportunity to draw and create their own costumes. Some recycled fabrics and outfits will be used to create costumes for all characters.
